For HFO Applications the system stays basically unchanged. To maintain fuel viscosities below 20cSt the supplied fresh fuel and water need to be preheated (21,22). Heaters can be electrical or steam heaters, depending on the application.

For emulsion-operation the mixing tank (28) is isolated (valves 26,27) from the booster circuit to minimize the emulsion volume inside the booster circuit. Fresh fuel will be fed to the mixing unit through mixing tank (28) to prevent the fuel inside the tank from freezing.  All other components of the fuel system stay unchanged.

In case of failures the FWE-System will be isolated from the fuel system by valves 15,16 and 19.

Total power consumption for heating will increase by the power used for water heating.
